Biography
From Barcelos, Portugal, maniaKK started playing games when he was 4 years old on an old console. He played many games such as RuneScape, Trackmania Nations, Warrock, Counter-Strike 1.6 and others.
He entered the competitive SMITE scene in November 2013 when he got invited to a team called Wellox. He eventually got kicked and made team Bloodytech in February 2014. A few months later, he received an offer SK Gaming to tryout for their team. After placing 4th in the SMITE World Championship under SK, him and the team decided to make the switch to Fnatic.
Fnatic remained a top 3 team throughout Season 2, even with a controversial role swap between teammates CaptainTwig and Zyrhoes. Despite their strengths, maniaKK and Fnatic was unable to overcome rival team Epsilon eSports, typically settling into a second or third place finish in splits, alongside longtime rivals Paradigm. However, at LANs, their performance was even weaker, falling behind their counterparts and their NA opponents. At the EU Regional Championship, although Fnatic received a bye through the first round of competition, Fnatic was crushed 3-0 by Paradigm, relegating them to the Wild Card tournament. maniaKK and Fnatic defeated London Conspiracy and Eager to progress to the World Championship, where they were, unfortunately, the only non-NA or European team to fall below fourth place.
maniaKK remained on Fnatic while teammates CaptainTwig and Badgah left, but despite his long-heralded performance in the past, he was unable to bring his team victories. At the end of Season 3's Spring Split, the team disbanded, with maniaKK having not appear on any team for the rest of Season 3.
He made his return in Season 4 as the new solo laner for Obey Alliance, replacing Variety. Although Variety's recent performance was seen as worthy of being a world champion, Variety himself did not see himself winning the championship with the then-Obey Alliance roster, so he left. Although maniaKK's competence was questioned, he immediately proved any suspicions wrong as he led Obey to 1st place in the Spring Split, and 2nd place in the Summer Split, only behind Team Dignitas. However, in a twist of everyone's expectations, he then joined NRG Esports. Although NRG had unparalleled showings in the past, they had slipped in Season 4, only reaching 3rd place in the Spring Split and the Summer Split. They tied with Obey Alliance during the Summer Finals for 3rd/4th place, beaten out in three straight games by Team Dignitas.
To make room for maniaKK, Dimi was moved to the coach role. NRG's strategy of giving Dimi late-game gods was faltering, and his claim to fame of rarely, if ever, dying was no longer true. However, maniaKK was also unable to push the team to victory, in fact NRG fell to 6th place out of 8 in the Fall Split. In spite of these hardships, maniaKK and his team would go on to take 1st place in the Gauntlet and Wildcard tournaments, securing a spot at the 2018 World Championship. Pushing past Nocturns Gaming in the Qualifying Stage and Luminosity Gaming in the Quarterfinals, NRG would meet its match in Team RivaL, which beat them 3-2, ruining NRG's hopes for a triple-consecutive win streak of the World Championship. As Rosterpocalypse was upon Smite teams after every World Championship, fans looked to see whether NRG would collapse as well. However, maniaKK maintained his position, and instead, iRaffer left the team for Obey Alliance, while maniaKK's former teammate, EmilZy, joined NRG.
